It was a cold winter day of January 1996. Joel & Barbara Tully, being of sound body and unsound mind, decided to go into business. Assessing their accumulated talents, it was either tumbleweed farming or wholesale ceramic tile distribution. With the 1996 slump in tumbleweed prices, tile was their logical (and only) choice, and Trends in Tile was born.

Being a relatively new company, Joel and Barbara knew they would need to hire some heavy hitters in order to carry any weight in the St. Louis ceramic market. So they put together a staff with combined industry experience of about 73 years, and a combined total weight of about 1583 pounds.

These heavy hitters needed quality products to sell, so they went in search of the finest ceramic and porcelain tiles available in the world today. They offer tiles suitable for interior as well as exterior installations. The styles range from inexpensive to exotic for both residential and commercial applications. Add to this a complete line of quality installation materials, and nobody has much time to think about tumbleweeds anymore.

Figuring most people aren't TOO much smarter than they are, Joel and Barbara wondered how people can envision their completed floor by choosing from a single piece of tile, or worse yet, from a 3x3 sample chip. So with the help of their friend Norm, they designed the finest showroom in the universe (this is an objective opinion shared by Norm), featuring hundreds of tiles installed on large grouted boards so that you can really see what they look like. They also incorporated numerous patterns and designs. If you do not find all of these options confusing enough, their helpful staff will be happy to offer their assistance.

Customers are encouraged to bring in items from home that will assist them with their color selections. People have brought in swatches of carpet, wallpaper, fabric, paint, brick, siding, sofa cushions, and toilet parts. One guy even carried around a bathroom pedestal sink, seriously! Okay, everyone laughed at him, but not until after he left. SO, please dont be embarrassed unless you are planning on bringing something far sillier than that.

Do feel free to come in and browse the showroom. Every effort will be made to make the selection process pleasant, maybe even fun.
